“I’m interested in the capacity for damaged ephemera to act as glimpses into a sensual reality often glazed over in contemporary life. Tension and Tragedy are extremely interesting to me, and serve as a point of departure in exploring a mediated language that fails to reach us. My work utilizes primitive materials, contorts and re-animates them, breathing new life and consequence into a perceived understanding.” -Eddy Ostrander
Since 2000, Eddy has collaborated with numerous musicians from Cleveland, Ohio, creating and exhibiting films and videos to accompany their live shows. He has also worked as a digital video editor and production assistant on various films and television shows. Eddy’s recent work has explored sculpture, performance, sound and installation, being created and exhibited both in and outside of the traditional gallery space.
Currently, Eddy is involved with 508 Compliant, an installation collective from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. He is also an instructor at Ohio State University, teaching Digital Manipulation in the Art & Technology Area.
